Data Management Basics

This workshop will introduce some basic data management tips that you can start using today. Whether you’re managing the data output of a research team, your own project or class data, or just trying to keep your documents and other files organized, the practical skills covered here can help. Topics include creating and naming directory structures and files, maintaining documentation, backup practices, file formats for long-term storage, and an overview of research data resources available at KU.

This workshop can be one to three hours long, and in presentation or hands-on format.
